Emergency or Routine Support?

Either Way, We're Here To Help

ABOUT US

Your Local People - A Close-Knit Team of Nurses

Real people needed help - and kept being told they were too complicated, too high-needs, or just not a good fit.

We set out to change that for people.

We’re here to give nursing support and home-based care to people with disabilities and complex mental health needs. More than that, we make sure no one is left without the help they need, no matter how complex the situation.

It’s about making sure that when someone needs support, they get it - no exceptions.

Steph

Director, Registered Nurse

Steph is a Registered Nurse who combines her skills with real-life experience to make sure no one is left figuring things out alone.Steph grew up caring for her paraplegic brother. She gets it. The late nights, the troubleshooting when things go wrong - the moments when the system makes things harder instead of easier.

Norm

Managing Director

Norm’s philosophy is simple: everyone deserves a fair go. He knows what it’s like to need help, and he’s built First Choice Care around the idea that when someone calls, they should get support—whether it’s Christmas morning or 3 AM on a Tuesday.

Sharon

Administrator

Sharon is a mum of two neurodivergent children, so she understands firsthand the need for patience, understanding, and real advocacy. She’s been part of the team for years, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Having spent many years advocating for her children and navigating life as a neurodivergent individual herself, she understands the challenges that arise from society's imposed limitations.

Rachael

Support Worker, Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

Rachel is an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse while juggling multiple roles at First Choice Care. She brings both professional and personal experience to her work, making sure every client gets the right support.

Erin, Jess, and Cassie

Support Team

Cassie is training to be a nurse while also working with children with Autism. Jess brings years of experience in disability support while Erin is an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse. Lived experience matters because understanding what someone is going through makes a difference in how care is provided.

Working With You

Most of the people we support are NDIS participants, but we also work with TAC and aged care clients.

Our team has built a reputation for taking on the cases other providers avoid. The kind of cases that require extra patience, skill, and a whole lot of persistence.

Support coordinators call us because they know we won’t walk away when things get tough. That’s not just talk - it’s what we’ve built our reputation on.

WHO WE ARE & WHO WE SUPPORT

Taking On the Tough Cases

We’re known for stepping in when others step away. We take on the complex, high-needs cases that require more patience, skill, and persistence.

Trusted by Coordinators

Support coordinators reach out to us because they know we don’t walk away when things get hard. That reputation wasn’t built on talk—it’s built on action.

A Proven Track Record of Helping People

We’ve grown from a small team to a thriving service, but at our core, we’re still just people who care. First Choice Care started in 2020, and today we support 40 clients with a team of 60 dedicated staff.

Along the way, we’ve built strong relationships with aged care providers like Bendigo Health, Sunbury Cobaw Health, and the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. These partnerships mean better coordination, access to specialists when needed, and the kind of advocacy that makes a real difference.

OUR TRACK RECORD & COMMUNITY

From Small Team to Thriving Service

First Choice Care started in 2020. Since then, we’ve grown from a small group to a team of 60, supporting 40 clients with personalised care.

Strong Provider Partnerships

We’ve built relationships with providers like Bendigo Health, Sunbury Cobaw Health, and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. These partnerships help us provide better coordination, specialist referrals, and stronger advocacy.

Local and Regional Support

We’re deeply embedded in the communities we serve—from Melbourne’s Western and Northern suburbs to regional areas like Bendigo, Moorabool, Hepburn, and Melton.

Where We Work & How We Help

We are deeply connected to the communities we serve.

We’re not just a service provider—we’re part of the neighbourhood.

For places in the north and west of Melbourne, we provide local care for local people.

We’re based here, so we understand the challenges - and the strengths - of the people who live here.

We’re Part of Your Local Community

We know the communities we serve because we’re part of them.

From Melbourne’s Western and Northern areas to regional places like Bendigo, Moorabool, Hepburn, and Melton, we’re here to provide care that fits the needs of the people who live here.

We See Your Strengths

We’re not here to change you.

We see what’s strong in you and help you build on it.

That’s the foundation of everything we do.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

We See Your Strengths

We don’t try to change you. We support what’s already strong in you and help build on it.

You’ll Never Be Left Without Help

We answer the phone even in the middle of the night. You’ll usually speak to a nurse who

knows what to do.

Real Nurses at Support Worker Rates

We offer nursing services at the same rate as support workers, making high-quality care

more accessible to a wider range of people.

You’ll See the Same Faces

Our team stays. That means you can build lasting trust with the same support workers

over time.
